What people say about our decks

Hi Electric Water,

I just wanted to let you know how happy I am with my deck.

I bought it five years ago and it is now the veteran of a fair few SW Tassie trips as well as numerous creeks and a couple of waterfalls. In no particular order: Franklin, Lea, Cataract Gorge, North Esk, Huon, Kiewas, Pencil Pine and Turpins Falls.

But the biggest test by far was the Denison River. The walk-in to the Denison is quite challenging, to say the least. First you have to paddle 15kms of flatwater, before climbing up and over a small mountain range to get to the river.

The walk itself is only 4kms long, but it took us 12hrs as it is typical Sout-West Tassie terrain. We had the decks on the boats the whole time, dragging them through thick scrub, mud, leeches, sword grass, over and under logs, sometimes upside-down, even letting them shoot down a steep hill knowing the thick scrub would eventually catch them. Amazingly, the deck had barely a scratch on it by the end of the trip.

Testament to its toughness is the fact that it has outlived my creeker (I got the deck made when I bought it) and is now onto its second boat with only a couple of minor scratches on it.

See you on the water!

Jean
